BETHESDA, Md., September 10, 2026 – Lockheed Martin has launched 25Forward, a five-year, $25 million initiative commemorating the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. The program is designed to safeguard history, underscoring Lockheed Martin’s ongoing commitment to deterrence and honoring those who protect the nation.
“Twenty-five years after 9/11, we remember those we lost and honor those who served,” said Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Taiclet. “Through our 25Forward initiative, Lockheed Martin is committing $25 million over the next five years to preserve the history and lessons of September 11, support the long-term wellbeing of 9/11 responders and survivors, and strengthen disaster response readiness.”
The centerpiece of 25Forward is a $10 million contribution to the Pentagon Memorial Visitor Education Center (VEC). The Center’s ceremonial groundbreaking is scheduled for September 12. While the launch of 25Forward aligns with the 25th anniversary of September 11, it is designed to serve as more than a single commemorative moment.
This initiative will focus on ways to safeguard, serve and sustain by furthering Lockheed Martin’s commitment to supporting our community. Through support for survivors, veterans and the next generation of innovators and responders, the initiative will create a meaningful, lasting impact and, in doing so, help carry forward a spirit of service and preparedness for the challenges ahead. Additional projects under this initiative will be announced in the coming months.
