Lockheed Martin Receives Prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award

DALLAS, Nov. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockheed Martin's (NYSE: LMT) Missiles and Fire Control business unit was chosen by the United States Department of Commerce as a 2012 recipient of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for performance excellence.

The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award represents one of the highest honors that can be awarded American companies for their achievements in leadership, strategic planning, customer relations, measurement and analysis, workforce and operations focus, and results. Named after the former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Malcolm Baldrige, Congress established the award program to promote the importance of quality and performance excellence, and to encourage the sharing of best practices.
