Lockheed Martin has submitted a proposal for the Taiwan Po Sheng program, which provides for the integration of Taiwanese air, ship, ground, and command and control assets using a joint command, control, communication, computer, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) system enabled by tactical data links. Translated "broad victory," the program has a potential value of $3.9 billion and is managed under a foreign military sales case by the U.S. Navy C4I and Space Program Executive Office based in San Diego, California. An award is expected this summer.

Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems (NE&SS) is the Po Sheng team prime integrator and will bring together the vast capabilities of the Lockheed Martin Corporation, including a business unit in Taiwan. Also on the team is MiTAC, a prominent IT and communication system integration company in Taiwan that will provide in-country efforts including integrated logistics support.

The Lockheed Martin Po Sheng team also includes key companies throughout the United States. California-based companies include ViaSat located in Carlsbad and CACI International, Inc., Titan, Information Networking Systems, Inc., and Digital Wizards in the San Diego area. Other team members include Alion Science and Technology, Annapolis, Maryland; Veridian Engineering Group, Arlington, Virginia; and Austin, Texas-based Advance Programming Concepts, Inc., all of whom will support data link processing, developmental test, evaluation and network design.

"This comprehensive team will participate on strategic sea, land, and air integrated product teams working cohesively to deliver to our customer a best- value Po Sheng solution," commented John McNellis, president of Lockheed Martin NE&SS Tactical Systems. "The Lockheed Martin Po Sheng team would perform much of its work in the San Diego area causing a positive impact on the business community," added McNellis.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, Lockheed Martin is a global enterprise principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, and integration of advanced technology systems products and services. A leader in C4I, airborne surveillance systems integration, and the design, development, packaging, and production of ruggedized Commercial Off- The-Shelf (COTS)-based computer systems, Tactical Systems is one of five major lines of business within the Lockheed Martin NE&SS business segment.
