Lockheed Martin Canada Presents Keys to Habitat for Humanity

OTTAWA, CANADA, June 14, 2018 – Lockheed Martin Canada’s [NYSE: LMT] Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Janice Menezes presented a family of eight with the keys to their new Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa (Habitat GO) home in the Leacross Landing development here today. As a corporate sponsor of Habitat GO for the past four years, Lockheed Martin Canada has contributed approximately $100,000 to the cause and in excess of 300 employee volunteer hours during the build days from employees and families.

“We’re extremely grateful to Habitat Greater Ottawa for allowing us to be part of this experience,” said Janice Menezes. “It’s rewarding enough to be able to contribute to helping deserving families realize their dream of home ownership, being able to present the keys is an added bonus and honour.”

In particular, Lockheed Martin Canada is a sponsor of the ‘Military Build’ program, which encourages Canadian veterans, active duty military members and reservists to participate in Habitat for Humanity build sites on designated days. Habitat GO held its first-ever Veterans Build Day, which saw more than 25 veterans and serving military personnel participate during Veteran’s Week last year.

“Lockheed Martin Canada has been an instrumental partner in our military and veteran build programs,” said Habitat GO Chief Executive Officer Alexis Ashworth. “We would like to thank them for their longstanding sponsorship and continuous support of Habitat GO’s mission to help families build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.”

Habitat GO’s Leacross Landing development in Orleans is its largest to date. Now in Phase II of construction, it will total 16 homes and will be completed in 2019. Three additional families are slated to move into their new homes in December 2018.
