DIAMOND BAR, Calif., June 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- QTC Medical Services, Inc. (QTC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), is a proud sponsor of the 36th Annual National Veterans Wheelchair Games (NVWG), the largest annual wheelchair multi-sport and rehabilitation event in the world. The Wheelchair Games, being held in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 26-29, 2016, are presented each year by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Paralyzed Veterans of America.

This is the 11th consecutive year that QTC will sponsor the Games, which will feature 600 athletes from around the country convening to compete in more than 19 sporting events, such as basketball, quad rugby power soccer, softball, swimming, weightlifting and this year's exhibition sport - bobsledding.

"We are dedicated to serving our nation's Veterans through the work we do for the VA. Showing support for America's heroes and NVWG is our way of letting our Veterans know how important they are to us," states Grant Kim, CEO of QTC. "It's absolutely inspiring to hear stories on how far these athletes have come despite the challenges they faced along the way."

The Games are open to all U.S. military service Veterans who use wheelchairs due to spinal cord injuries, certain neurological conditions, amputations or other mobility impairments. The Games are committed to fostering better physical and mental health for Veterans with disabilities through sports competition.

QTC, acquired by Lockheed Martin in 2011, provides a full complement of disability-focused medical examination and diagnostic testing services for a wide range of government customers. Since 2000, QTC has provided more than three million independent medical examinations and two million diagnostic tests.
