Lockheed Martin Names Rod Makoske Senior Vice President, Corporate Engineering, Technology, and Operations and Keoki Jackson Chief Technology Officer

BETHESDA, Md., Feb. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) Corporation has appointed Rodney (Rod) A. Makoske, 51, to senior vice president, Corporate Engineering, Technology, and Operations and a corporate officer, and Dana (Keoki) Jackson, 45, as vice president and chief technology officer (CTO). Both appointments are effective immediately and follow the retirement of Ray Johnson on February 1, 2015.

In his new role, Makoske is responsible for providing corporate leadership in the strategic areas of technology, engineering, production, supply chain, program management, and sustainment operations. As the principal engineering and operational leader for the Corporation, he oversees the recruitment, retention and development of our engineering and operations workforce and ensures engineering, technical and operational excellence across the enterprise.

Makoske was most recently vice president of Technical Operations for the Corporation's Mission Systems and Training (MST) business area, where he led an organization of more than 6,000 engineers and was responsible for driving technical excellence, program performance and setting the MST independent research and development strategy. Makoske holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

As CTO, Jackson is responsible for overseeing the Corporation's advanced technology strategy and the maturation of future innovations. He is also responsible for managing our research and development relationships with colleges and universities, industry and international partners, and the U.S. government science and technology community. Jackson was most recently vice president for Program Excellence where he led the cross-functional integration of the Corporation's five councils for engineering and technology, production, program management, supply chain, and sustainment. 

Jackson joined Lockheed Martin in 1997 and has held a number of leadership roles of increasing responsibility in program management and advanced technology development. Prior to joining Lockheed Martin, Jackson was a NASA graduate research fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He holds a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science and a Doctor of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT. Jackson is also a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford's Graduate School of Business.
