Forty Three Lockheed Martin Employees Receive 2013 Women of Color STEM Awards

DALLAS, Oct. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Forty three Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] employees are among the recipients of the 2013 Women of Color Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Awards hosted by CCG's Women of Color Magazine. The following employees were honored at the Women of Color STEM Conference October 17-19 in Dallas, Texas:

  • Iris Bombelyn, Vice President and Program Management of Mobile User Objective System (MUOS), Space Systems Company, (Sunnyvale, CA), who received the Career Achievement Award. Bombelyn began her 29-year career in the aerospace and defense industry by serving as the first woman engineer on the famed Titan Rocket launch team.
  • Sarah Travelute, Senior Manager, Program Management- Sub-Contracts, Missiles & Fire Control, (Orlando, FL), who received the Managerial Leadership Award. Travelute has 21 years of professional experience holding such key roles at Lockheed Martin as Deputy Director for the Tactical Missiles Procurement and International Subcontract Management – United Kingdom.
