ROCKVILLE, Md., June 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] has been awarded a contract to provide information technology (IT) and emergency operations planning and support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Office of Public Health and Preparedness (OPHPR). The multiple-award indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract has a ceiling value of $400 million over five years.

Since 1999, Lockheed Martin has provided around-the-clock IT and emergency operations to OPHPR during public health incidents and normal operations. The company also provides logistical management services for the Strategic National Stockpile, which has medicine and medical supplies to protect the American public if a severe public health emergency causes local supplies to run out. Lockheed Martin supported staffing and training for the CDC's Emergency Operations Center, and is partnering with them on a dashboard to enable federal, state and local agencies to share real-time data.
