Lockheed Martin Announces Media Briefing Schedule for the Association of the U.S. Army Annual Meeting

BETHESDA, Md., Oct. 16, 2012 – Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] today announced the media briefing schedule for the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting & Exposition in Washington, D.C. The AUSA show runs from Monday, Oct. 22, through Wednesday, Oct. 24. 

The company will announce a number of recent accomplishments, product developments and new capabilities to meet the needs of the U.S. Army and its soldiers serving around the world.

Lockheed Martin has developed an advanced Air and Missile Defense C2 system that integrates Real-Time, Near-Real-Time, and Non-Real-Time missile and C2 operational data to provide commanders with unprecedented situational awareness. These dramatic improvements in battlespace command and control allow air and space operators to plan and execute missions with greater efficiency, speed, and confidence.

1:30 p.m. Evolving Synthetic Aperture Radar: UHF/VHF, X-Band, Ku Band
Presented by Mark Grablin, director – Airborne Reconnaissance Systems at Lockheed Martin
Since inventing SAR in the early 1950s, Lockheed Martin has refined Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) sensor capabilities. Today's SAR products span three different bands to provide penetration capability(UHF/VHF), a fine resolution tactical capability (Ku-band), and a long standoff reconnaissance capability (X-Band); we are evolving Moving Target Indication capabilities into all our SAR products.

Introduced last year, Lockheed Martin's Dragon Family of ISR offers customers seven innovative options that can be tailored to address specific ISR requirements. Our most recent option, Dragon Sentinel, offers customers a persistent surveillance capability to support defense, border protection, disaster relief and humanitarian missions. Each configuration is available on a lease basis via our Net Dragon option.

2:30 p.m. SMSS in the Multi-Mission Role

Six Army evaluations, at home and in Afghanistan, demonstrated SMSS's progress as an autonomous cargo-hauler, but recent additional testing illustrates how the system can serve in new, innovative ways. Lockheed Martin will discuss advancements and show for the first time SMSS at work on counter-IED missions.
