GAITHERSBURG, Md., Oct. 15, 2012 -- Members of the media are invited to attend the Third Annual Cyber Security Awareness Day, a CyberMaryland educational event designed for Maryland High School Students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to promote cyber security careers and education, and to learn safe online practices through a series of interactive workshops.

Brought to students in partnership with the Tech Council of Maryland (TCM) and National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), Lockheed Martin and government agencies, including, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the National Security Agency (NSA) and the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), will engage with students through interactive sessions while students explore cyber security careers and educational curriculum with Maryland colleges and universities. Additionally, Sen. Ben Cardin, will kick-off the event to reinforce the State of Maryland's commitment to developing a Maryland pipeline for new cyber security talent and workforce development.
