BETHESDA, Md.

BETHESDA, Md., April 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) released its 2011 Corporate Sustainability Report today, outlining its performance in five non-financial areas – environmental, ethics, diversity and inclusion, global community outreach, and occupational health and safety. It also summarizes key corporate governance actions and includes a timeline tracing Lockheed Martin's 100 years of sustainable thinking.

"Growing a successful business in today's world requires more than financial performance," said Bob Stevens, chairman and chief executive officer. "That's why we work together to embed our core values – do what's right, respect others, perform with excellence – in our relationships with customers, colleagues and business partners. This report reflects the efforts of all 123,000 Lockheed Martin employees in this important endeavor."

The full report is available at www.lockheedmartin.com/csr2011 where readers are encouraged to share their ideas on how Lockheed Martin can improve its sustainability performance on the interactive back cover.

"We drive sustainability at all levels, and it is energized by our employees' creativity and innovations," said Chris Kubasik, president and chief operating officer. "Every day, our employees are helping to grow the business responsibly and create a better world for generations to come. It is our employees' commitment to serving with purpose – whether on behalf of our customers, communities or a greener Earth – that makes me proud of the work we do and the way we do it at Lockheed Martin."

The report follows the corporation's announcement on April 10 that it had achieved a set of aggressive five-year global environmental goals a year ahead of schedule, as part of the company's Go Green commitment made in 2008. The company met or exceeded its goals of reducing water use, waste-to-landfill and carbon emissions by 25 percent each since 2007 levels, while revenues rose 12 percent in the same period.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company that employs about 123,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The Corporation's net sales for 2011 were $46.5 billion.
