Lockheed Martin Vice President Sonya Stewart Named a Top Minority Business Leader in D.C. Region

ROCKVILLE, Md., March 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) is proud to announce that Sonya Stewart, a vice president within the company's Information Systems & Global Solutions-Civil division, has been named a Washington Business Journal (WBJ) Minority Business Leader. The 25 WBJ honorees are recognized for their entrepreneurial drive, creativity, and decisive leadership.

Since joining Lockheed Martin in 1992, Stewart has led several critical initiatives. She initially supported the U.S. intelligence community -- helping to design and deploy web-based interfaces among multiple classified agencies. Stewart also served as the vice president of diversity workforce management, and helped develop many corporate-wide leadership forums. Stewart, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, has a bachelor's and master's degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro.
