Lockheed Martin Announces Briefing Schedule for Surface Navy Association 24th National Symposium

ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 4, 2012 – Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] today announced its media briefing schedule for the Surface Navy Association (SNA) 24th National Symposium in Arlington, Va.  SNA takes place Tuesday, Jan. 10, through Thursday, Jan. 12, and this year is themed "Surface Navy – A Credible Force in Uncertain Times."

The company will highlight accomplishments, product developments and new capabilities to meet the needs of the U.S. Navy and its sailors serving around the world.

9:30 a.m. – On, Under and Above the Sea:  Roundtable Update on the Littoral Combat Ship, Remote Multi-Mission Vehicle, K-MAX and MH-60R

Presented by Lockheed Martin's George Barton, Ship & Aviation Systems business development vice president; Joe North, Littoral Ship Systems vice president; and Rich Holmberg, Mission & Unmanned Systems vice president.

Lockheed Martin's Ship & Aviation Systems (SAS) business development vice president George Barton will kick off this four part media briefing and roundtable discussion by providing reporters with a state of the business and plans for 2012. Following the overview, reporters will receive individual program updates from George Barton on MH-60R and K-MAX; Joe North, Littoral Ship Systems vice president, on the Littoral Combat Ship; and Rich Holmberg, Mission & Unmanned Systems vice president, on the Remote Multi-Mission Vehicle.

Lockheed Martin subject matter experts will host a roundtable discussion with reporters to discuss Aegis Modernization and Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) recent milestones. The Aegis Weapon System plays a vital role in the European Phased Adaptive Approach and Aegis BMD technology has evolved to support the requirements of the combatant commanders, through various upgrades and enhancements. The upgraded Aegis systems will enhance the entire fleet through Aegis Modernization, which includes the new construction Aegis Destroyers DDG 113 and beyond.
