HERNDON, Va., Nov. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In a ceremony at the National Air and Space Museum Washington D.C., Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) presented its prestigious NOVA Award to two individuals and one team from Information Systems & Global Solutions-National. The NOVA Award is the company's highest honor presented annually to individuals and teams who have made outstanding contributions to the corporation's mission and business objectives.

The annual NOVA Awards ceremony was hosted by Lockheed Martin Chairman and CEO Bob Stevens on Friday, October 28, to recognize employees for their outstanding achievements. Dan Waters received an award for Technical Excellence, and Shawn Hill received an award for Full Spectrum Leadership. In the team category 19 employees were recognized for their efforts on the Ghidorah program, a three-year campaign resulting in a solution for the customer that filled a critical mission need.
