King of Prussia, Pa, Sept. 9, 2011 – Lockheed Martin employees will have an opportunity to cheer on participants in the Ride 2 Recovery (R2R) 9/11 Challenge on Tuesday, September 13, as they make their journey commemorating the events of September 11, 2001.

Between 10:15 and 11:00 a.m., nearly 350 bicycle riders will be stopping at the Lockheed Martin Building 100 facility's lower parking lot (near the King of Prussia Mall) for a short respite en route to their final destinations: the United 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pa., and the Pentagon Memorial in Va.

About the 9/11 Ride 2 Recovery Challenge:
In honor of the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, a special 8-day, 530-mile bike ride will begin at Liberty State Park in New York City, with a view of the World Trade Center site. Along the way, riders will cross the Delaware River at Washington's Crossing, stop in Philadelphia, ride thru Valley Forge and Gettysburg, head west to the United 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pa., and finish at the Pentagon Memorial. Participants will include survivors, family members, and first responders from 9/11, wounded heroes from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the general public.
