FORT WORTH, Texas, Dec. 21, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- This holiday season the 14,400 employees of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Fort Worth pursued charitable projects that raised more than $100,000 worth of gifts, cash donations and other assistance for local organizations and individuals.
Beneficiaries this year include the Marine Corps' Toys for Tots program, the Salvation Army, Catholic Charities Adopt-A-Family, Child Protective Services, Meals on Wheels, Women's Haven, the YWCA and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Goodfellow Fund. Among the donations were 419 bicycles donated to Toys for Tots.
"Employees of Lockheed Martin take great pride in giving to the less fortunate. The annual holiday charity drive is just one of many ways that Lockheed Martin contributes to the communities in which we live and work," said Joe LaMarca, vice president of communications.
On an ongoing basis, Lockheed Martin employees in Fort Worth contribute more than $2 million in funds and volunteer service to community projects each year.
