Lockheed Martin has been selected by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to compete for future task orders under the Operations and Maintenance Engineering Enhancement (OMEE) contracting vehicle. Four other companies were also selected to compete for tasks under this program.

The OMEE initiative is an indefinite-delivery-indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract established by the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, Ala., for operations and maintenance support services to government medical and related non-medical facilities, both in the United States and abroad. It will be used by the USACE to obtain these services over the next four years.

The companies selected will compete for tasks which, all totaled, have a contract ceiling of up to $300 million over a four-year period. Individual task orders will support the Department of Defense's medical facilities, including building maintenance and construction, providing needed supplies and equipment, biomedical equipment maintenance and repair, and housekeeping services.

"Lockheed Martin is honored to be selected by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for this operations and maintenance program," said Carey Smith, vice president of Technical Services, Lockheed Martin Global Training and Logistics. "This support is critical to maintaining environments where caregivers can focus on what matters most: the patients."

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin is a global security company that employs about 136,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The Corporation reported 2009 sales of $44.5 billion.
