Lockheed Martin will provide equipment support, inventory management and fielding team support to the U.S. Marine Corps System Command, through a new task order with initial funding of approximately $10M.

The task order, part of the Commercial Enterprise Omnibus Services Support (CEOSS) vehicle, could be worth $30M if the two option years are exercised. In its role, the Lockheed Martin team will assist the Networks and Satellite Communications Systems and Tactical Communications Systems program offices with equipment support, inventory management, and fielding team support of networks and satellite communications and tactical communications systems for the entire Marine Corps.

"The work we'll do is the essence of logistics: developing plans to get equipment to where it's most needed by our customer, tracking it through the supply chain, providing instructions for its use, and other sustainment activities," said Carey Smith, vice president of Technical Services with Lockheed Martin Readiness & Stability Operations.

"We're pleased the Marine Corps chose us and we look forward to continuing our reliable and strong support of this critical customer's mission."

The Lockheed Martin team has supported the Marine Corps on various task orders through CEOSS since its 2002 inception.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin is a global security company that employs about 140,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The Corporation reported 2009 sales of $45.2 billion.
