Election Observers Provided in Support of State Department

ARLINGTON, Va.

PAE, a Lockheed Martin company, has successfully concluded its role supporting the Organization of Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) electoral observation mission in Ukraine.

Under a State Department contract, PAE provided over 120 highly-skilled professionals to serve as observers for the just-concluded presidential elections in that country.

PAE's efforts involved placing several long-term observers in Ukraine well in advance of the elections to help track developments during the campaign process, as well as sending short term observers to monitor the presidential election itself. PAE observers were on hand to participate in activities for each of the two rounds of Ukrainian voting on January 17 and February 7, 2010.

"I'm proud of our team's work on behalf of our State Department customer in Ukraine," said Dell Dailey, President of PAE. "PAE has decades of experience supporting State Department programs, so we understand the valuable role they play in strengthening democracy around the world."

A wholly-owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, PAE is a global company specializing in expeditionary construction, logistics, operations and maintenance, and training. The company provides support to the State Department, Department of Defense and a number of international organizations.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin is a global security company that employs about 140,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services.
