WASHINGTON

Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Army Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (JMTC) today signed an agreement that will provide Lockheed Martin access, via public-private partnerships, to the Army's only vertically integrated metal manufacturing facility and the only remaining U.S. Army foundry.

Under this agreement, Lockheed Martin and Army program managers will establish a working relationship to combine the best practices of industry and government to support of the warfighter.

Lockheed Martin vice president of Logistics & Sustainment Lou Kratz and Colonel Craig S. Cotter of the Rock Island Arsenal's JMTC signed the agreement at Association of the United States Army (AUSA) annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

"Lockheed Martin is honored to enter into this agreement with the JMTC at the Rock Island Arsenal and we applaud Col. Cotter's vision and leadership. This agreement is a logical extension of Lockheed Martin's successful partnerships with the Military Services and the Defense Logistics Agency," said Kratz. "We look forward to working with the JMTC to further advance industrial integration across government and industry throughout the life cycle to include development, production, and sustainment. We view this agreement as an important step towards combining the best of government with the best of industry, assuring consistent, performance-based outcomes for our warfighters across the entire life cycle."

Located at the Rock Island Arsenal, the JMTC design and prototyping, as well as manufacturing and testing capabilities, support a wide range of partnership opportunities, from initial product design & manufacture, to resetting the Force.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin is a global security company that employs about 140,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services.
