Lockheed Martin to Break Ground on New Lufkin Operations Plant Expansion

Media members are invited to attend a groundbreaking ceremony at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2009, at the Lockheed Martin's Lufkin Operations (1008 North John Redditt Drive, Lufkin, Texas).

Ground will be broken on an expansion of its Lufkin production facility that will effectively double the size of the plant. The event will last approximately one hour.

Several governmental and civic dignitaries, including U.S. Congressman Louie Gohmert, former Congressman Charlie Wilson and Texas State Representative Jim McReynolds, will be in attendance.

Lockheed Martin's Lufkin Operations produces electronics and sub-assemblies for the combat-proven Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Missile, the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) Guided Rocket, the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) and the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Weapon System.
