ROCKVILLE, Md.

The Association for Persons in Supported Employment (APSE) selected Lockheed Martin for the association's 2008 Employer Hall of Fame at APSE's recent national conference. Each year, APSE recognizes employers who enhance employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.

Lockheed Martin was nominated for this honor by Maryland Works, Inc. The nomination cited Lockheed Martin's longstanding relationship with Humanim and Maryland Works. Both agencies help find employment for people with disabilities or from disadvantaged sectors of society.

For more than 10 years, Lockheed Martin's Baltimore, MD distribution center, which stores and ships health information publications to the general public, has worked with Humanim to actively and fully include individuals with disabilities as a part of their workforce. Lockheed Martin was previously recognized as Employer of the Year at Maryland Works' 1st Annual Employment Awards Luncheon on January 24, 2008.

Andrew McMahon, the distribution center manager, and Cynthia Cadden, senior program manager, accepted the award in Louisville, Ky., on behalf of Lockheed Martin. "It is a great honor to be selected for APSE's Employer Hall of Fame," said McMahon. "At Lockheed Martin, we embrace diversity and value the contributions of all of our employees because we recognize that our success depends on the talent, skills and expertise of our people -- especially those from different backgrounds."

Headquartered in Bethesda, MD, Lockheed Martin employs about 140,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The Corporation reported 2007 sales of $41.9 billion.
