Lockheed Martin has received a $1.2B contract from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to manage its Integrated Hiring Operations and Personnel (IHOP) Program.

Under the potential eight-year contract, Lockheed Martin will develop a fully-integrated human resources solution to support the recruiting, assessing, hiring, paying and promoting of all TSA employees. Lockheed Martin will develop and deploy an advanced HR system, as well as provide the people and processes to manage TSA's human resource services.

"It is a privilege to continue our support to the TSA," said Elmer Nelson, vice president of homeland security solutions. "Our IHOP solution will allow the TSA to have the right staff at the right time and at the right place to support its critical mission of keeping our nation safe and secure."

The contract will be managed by TSA's Office of Human Capital, who is responsible for hiring and retaining qualified personnel to carry out the agency's critical missions.

Lockheed Martin has supported the TSA since its inception in 2002 on programs such as screener training and checkpoint reconfiguration. The contract also builds on the corporation's previous experience in managing large federal human capital programs.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin employs about 140,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The Corporation reported 2007 sales of $41.9 billion.
