Rand currently serves as Pratt & Whitney's Vice President, Communications, where he leads the company's worldwide internal and external communications, including public relations; employee communications; advertising and branding; public affairs; and communications in support of sales and marketing. Rand will join Lockheed Martin May 1.

Rand is a retired U.S. Air Force Brigadier General. In his final Air Force position, Rand served as the service's Director of Public Affairs in Washington, D.C., where he directed all internal and external communications and served as the Air Force's chief spokesperson. During his 32-year career in the Air Force, he also led communications at bases around the world.
Rand has a master's degree in mass communication from Boston University and a bachelor's degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy.
