Lockheed Martin today named Ronald T. Rand as the Corporation's Senior Vice President, Communications. Rand succeeds Dennis R. Boxx who retired earlier this month.

Rand currently serves as Pratt & Whitney's Vice President, Communications, where he leads the company's worldwide internal and external communications, including public relations; employee communications; advertising and branding; public affairs; and communications in support of sales and marketing. Rand will join Lockheed Martin May 1.

"Ron Rand brings a wealth of talent and experience to Lockheed Martin, and we are pleased to have him on our team," said Lockheed Martin Chairman, President and CEO Bob Stevens.

"We are also deeply appreciative of Dennis Boxx's countless contributions to the success of our company during his 10-year tenure. He has made immeasurable contributions to the Corporation, and I am most grateful for his service," Stevens added.

Rand is a retired U.S. Air Force Brigadier General. In his final Air Force position, Rand served as the service's Director of Public Affairs in Washington, D.C., where he directed all internal and external communications and served as the Air Force's chief spokesperson. During his 32-year career in the Air Force, he also led communications at bases around the world.

Rand has a master's degree in mass communication from Boston University and a bachelor's degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy.
