Employee Volunteers to Prepare Thousands of Meals for Local Community
Thanksgiving is not only a time to be thankful, but also a time to serve others. That is why for the 37th consecutive year, Lockheed Martin employees will bag up to 2,600 meals to donate to 80 local charitable agencies. If your news organization is covering local community projects to show how area organizations and individuals are giving back this holiday season, this project will allow you to talk to volunteers and a variety of community service organizations in one place.
The meals, which will feed a family of six, will be given to agencies in Montgomery, Frederick, Prince George's and Howard counties, as well as Washington D.C., for distribution. The meals contain items such as turkeys, potatoes, bread and side dishes, which are provided by Lockheed Martin. Employees also donated canned vegetables and money to help complete each meal.
