CHANTILLY, Va.

Lockheed Martin held a ribbon-cutting ceremony today to celebrate the opening of its new office building in Chantilly. The new building, named Stonegate II, will expand Lockheed Martin's existing Chantilly operations in support of the company's government customers.

The 6-story, 145,000-square-foot building will house approximately 600 employees. Lockheed Martin's Information Systems & Global Services business area will be the main occupant of the facility and will provide enterprise- level systems integration related to Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR).

"The capabilities developed in this facility will enable our government customers to quickly turn information into actionable intelligence," said Bill Graham, Lockheed Martin Vice President & General Manager for Systems Integration. "We also look forward to expanding our relationship with the local community as we continue to grow our presence in Fairfax County."

In addition to office and laboratory space, the building has a 220-seat auditorium, a cafeteria and conference rooms. Stonegate II is located in the Westfields Corporate Center, adjacent to Lockheed Martin's existing Stonegate I facility on Conference Center Drive.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin employs about 140,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The corporation reported 2006 sales of $39.6 billion.
