The contract calls on Lockheed Martin to provide CNCS applicants, members and alumni a centralized contact point using toll-free lines, e-mail, fax, mail and Web-based transactions. The contract also will enable easy ordering, timely fulfillment and effective inventory management of CNCS materials.
CNCS provides opportunities for Americans to volunteer in their communities and administers the Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, and Learn and Serve America programs.
"Given Lockheed Martin's long tradition of being involved in communities in which we live and work, we are especially proud to help CNCS engage Americans in volunteerism," said Joseph Cipriano, president of Lockheed Martin Business Process Solutions. "By combining our past experience with CNCS and our company's strength in customer service and advanced technology, we will enable CNCS to focus on its primary mission of building a culture of citizenship, service and responsibility in America."
Lockheed Martin has supported CNCS in a wide range of outreach and recruitment activities, including call centers, mailing list management and direct mailing services since 2001.
