USAF Mentor-Protege Program Benefits Local Alaska Native-Owned Business, ACTI

Angeles Composite Technologies Inc. (ACTI) will gain about 20 new jobs and important new manufacturing capabilities as the result of a U.S. Air Force Mentor-Protege contract it is receiving via Lockheed Martin Aeronautics of Fort Worth, Texas.

News media have the opportunity to learn about the program at an event scheduled Tuesday, December 19, at ACTI, located at 2138 W. 18th St. in Port Angeles beginning at 10 a.m.

Congressman Norm Dicks is expected; Port Angeles Mayor Karen Rogers and representatives of the U.S. Air Force and Lockheed Martin Corp. are confirmed to participate. Following a brief ceremony and contract signing, photo opportunities will be provided in ACTI's manufacturing facility.

Composite materials produced by ACTI will now be incorporated in the world's newest, most technologically advanced military aircraft. Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is the prime contractor for the F-22 Raptor, F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter, F-16, C-130J and other advanced military aircraft.

Media who wish to cover the events should arrive at ACTI's main entrance no later than 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday. (The ceremony is not open to the general public.)
