A team headed by Lockheed Martin was selected by the U.S. Air Force to compete for future task orders under the NORAD/USNORTHCOM Advisory and Assistance Services (N-NC A&AS) contract vehicle. Seven other companies were also selected to compete for N-NC A&AS tasks throughout the five-year contract period.

NORAD/USNORTHCOM Advisory and Assistance Services is a performance-based, indefinite-delivery-indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract, replacing more than thirty previous contracts, to support bi-national North American Aerospace Defense Command and the United States Northern Command, both headquartered in Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.

Services provided under this vehicle will be in three major categories: Management, operational, and professional support services; studies, analyses, and evaluation; and engineering and technical services. It will be used by NORAD and USNORTHCOM to obtain these services for the next five years. The vehicle will support homeland defense missions such as planning, operations and analysis across all of the military staffs.

"The N-NC A&AS contract is great news for Lockheed Martin and for NORAD and the U.S. Northern Command. Through use of this new comprehensive vehicle, our team will be able to support the commands' homeland defense mission in many new ways and at the same time significantly reduce the overall cost to the Government," said Frank Cardile, Lockheed Martin Information Technology's Vice President and General Manager for Professional Services.

The eight companies selected will compete for N-NC A&AS tasks which, all totaled, have a contract ceiling of up to $800 million over a five-year time period. Lockheed Martin's teammates include SYColeman, CIBER, CollaborX, and Capstone in addition to many other small businesses. As lead under this contract, Lockheed Martin Information Technology will be supported by the Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems and Solutions business area.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin Corporation employs about 135,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The corporation reported 2005 sales of $37.2 billion.
