Lockheed Martin has received a $17.1 million contract to produce Close Combat Tactical Trainer Reconfigurable Vehicle Simulators (CCTT-RVS) for the U.S. Army.

CCTT-RVS complements the traditional CCTT with representation of a wide variety of wheeled vehicles, including multiple variants of the High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) and Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT), all equipped with precision small arms simulators. CCTT-RVS easily integrates with the existing CCTT modules in use today.

"The RVS program continues to enhance the realism and mission rehearsal capability of the CCTT system to ensure soldiers get the highest quality, most relevant training available."

CCTT-RVS' integrated training delivers reconnaissance and convoy vehicle crew skills in the context of supporting M1 Tank, M2/3 Bradley, Apache attack helicopter, and Bradley Fire Support Vehicle virtual simulators.

Two reconfigurable trainers contained within a 53-foot trailer, makes the system mobile and easy to move for Army units readying for deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan. The RVS systems will be delivered to existing CCTT training sites in 2007.

Lockheed Martin will again work with FATS, Inc., headquartered in Suwanee, GA, to provide small arms trainers, indirect fire trainers and close air support simulation.
