New Office Will Allow Company to Better Serve Department of Defense Customers

Lockheed Martin held a dedication ceremony today to mark the opening of its new office facility in Sarpy County. The 2-story, 85,600- square-foot building consolidates four existing facilities into one site and expands the corporation's laboratory space in the area.

"We are honored to be an active member of this community, and we are proud to continue working with U.S. Strategic Command and our other military customers in support of our country," said Stan Sloane, Lockheed Martin Executive Vice President for the Integrated Systems & Solutions business area. "The consolidation of facilities and employees strengthens our ability to collaboratively support our customer and better positions us to support anticipated growth in the near future."

The facility becomes a new node in the corporation's Global Vision Network -- a capability that currently links 36 Lockheed Martin laboratories and facilities across the country. The node enables engineers, scientists and researchers in the corporation to work together to help solve customer challenges and develop new business technologies and solutions.

The facility, which currently features six laboratories, has the potential to accommodate 340 employees as future business requirements develop. The site is located in the Lakewood Villages at the intersection of 45th Street and Maas Road.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin employs about 135,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The corporation reported 2005 sales of $37.2 billion.
