Lockheed Martin has been awarded the $305 million Sentinel information technology contract by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The goal of the contract is to transform the way agents and analysts access and share key information in carrying out the FBI's intelligence and law enforcement mission.

The six-year contract was awarded under the National Institutes of Health Chief Information Officers Solutions and Partners II (CIOSP II) contracting vehicle. Under this agreement, Lockheed Martin and its industry partners will use proven Commercial Off-The-Shelf technologies to produce an integrated system that supports processing, storage and management of the FBI's current paper-based criminal investigation records system. The program includes an incremental development and delivery phase, followed by a phased period of operations and maintenance.

"We are proud to extend our partnership with the FBI to include Sentinel," said Linda Gooden, President of Lockheed Martin Information Technology. "Lockheed Martin has been one of the FBI's trusted partners for more than 15 years. We understand the critical importance of Sentinel in fulfilling the need for timely, secure information exchange in order to protect our nation's security."

Lockheed Martin is joined by a strong set of industry partners. These include Accenture, Anteon, CACI, Computer Sciences Corporation, High Performance Technologies Inc. (HPTi), Innovative Management & Technology Services (IMTS), Knowledge Consulting Group (KCG), Management Systems Designers (MSD), SI International, The Analysis Corp., and TKC Technology Solutions.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin employs about 135,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The corporation reported 2005 sales of $37.2 billion.
