ORLANDO, Fla.

More than 600 Lockheed Martin employees on Saturday, September 17 will take part in the Heart of Florida United Way Day of Caring, making Lockheed Martin's the largest single-company effort for the Central Florida event for the second consecutive year.

About two dozen teams of Lockheed Martin employees from the Missiles and Fire Control, Simulation, Training and Support, and Enterprise Information Systems facilities in Central Florida will meet at Quest, Inc.'s Laurel Hill Cluster Homes. Quest's Laurel Hill Cluster Homes is a set of three group homes in northwest Orlando devoted to providing a safe atmosphere for individuals with severe mental and physical challenges. The Lockheed Martin teams will be clearing an existing nature trail and making it wheelchair friendly, refurbishing the interior of the homes, and landscaping the entrances and yards surrounding the complex.

"Lockheed Martin employees are proud to be a part of Heart of Florida's Day of Caring," said Craig Weller, vice president of Human Resources and this year's Executive Champion for the Central Florida Lockheed Martin 2005 Charitable Giving Campaign, in partnership with Heart of Florida United Way. "We hope that the work we do today makes tomorrow and every day forward a little bit brighter for the residents and staff at Laurel Hill."

Employees will volunteer from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Laurel Hill Cluster Homes are located at 2011 Laurel Cluster Court in northwest Orlando. Pepsi and Bubbalous' Bodacious Barbeque have contributed to the food and refreshments that will be served to employees throughout the day.

For more than 40 years Quest has filled community needs by inspiring and empowering Central Floridians with disabilities to lead fulfilling lives.
