Petrone joins Lockheed Martin from the General Electric Co., where he most recently was vice president of human resources for GE U.S. Equipment Financing. "Joe Petrone is superbly qualified to support Electronic Systems in recruiting, developing and retaining the talent essential to achievement of our business objectives, including sales growth in international markets," said Robert B. Coutts, executive vice president of the business area. "He also is well equipped to lead the business area in continuing our progress toward building a diverse and dynamic workforce for the 21st Century."

Electronic Systems, with 2004 sales of $9.7 billion, provides integrated hardware and software solutions to ensure the mission readiness of armed forces and government agencies worldwide.
