Lockheed Martin Elects James M. Loy to Board of Directors

BETHESDA, Md.

James M. Loy has been elected to the Lockheed Martin Board of Directors, effective Aug. 5, 2005. Loy is a distinguished Coast Guard veteran and has served for 45 years in positions of public service. All Lockheed Martin directors serve one-year terms.

Loy, 62, is the former Deputy Secretary, Department of Homeland Security; Administrator, Transportation Security Administration; and Commandant, U.S. Coast Guard. As the first Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security, he was involved in all aspects of consolidating 22 separate agencies into one unified Cabinet department.

Loy is a graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and holds Master's degrees from Wesleyan University and the University of Rhode Island.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin employs about 130,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture and integration of advanced technology systems, products and services. The corporation reported 2004 sales of $35.5 billion.
