Lockheed Martin will soon begin managing desktop computer services for the headquarters of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in Washington, D.C. The company's win of that part of the agency's Outsourced Desktop Initiative (ODIN) contract vehicle means that Lockheed Martin now is enterprise-wide ODIN provider for the entire NASA agency.

The $22 million, three-year delivery order is slated to begin September 1, following a 60-day transition period. Lockheed Martin will provide support in a variety of areas, including desktop, facsimile, and printer services. Other services and commercial products will also be available to headquarters customers through catalog sales.

The Headquarters contract follows on the heels of a recent re-competition win in which the company retained ODIN work for the next three years at four NASA science and research Centers: Ames Research Center and Dryden Flight Research Center in California; Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio; and Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va. The company currently also provides desktop and network services for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif., under a separate contract.

Lockheed Martin also holds ODIN contracts at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.; Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas; Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Fla.; Marshall Space Flight Center at Huntsville, Ala.; and Stennis Space Center in Mississippi.

Under ODIN Lockheed Martin provides a variety of network, communications and infrastructure support, in addition to desktop and related services, for many of these NASA centers. The company also holds the managed services contract for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.
