Lockheed Martin and U.S. Army to Celebrate 25th Anniversary of MLRS Becoming an International Program

Representatives from Lockheed Martin , the United States Army and officials representing government and industry from the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and France will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) becoming an international program on July 14 in Huntsville, AL.

The media are invited to attend an availability session at the Huntsville Marriott at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, in which U.S. Army and Lockheed Martin officials will discuss the importance of the MLRS system and the significance of MLRS becoming an international partnership. Subject matter experts will include Colonel Earnest Harris, the U.S. Army's MLRS program manager, and Ron Abbott, Lockheed Martin's vice president - Tactical Missiles.

The Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) is a highly mobile, automatic system that fires surface-to-surface rockets and missiles from the M270 and M270A1 platforms. MLRS launchers and rockets are now in the inventories of (or have been ordered by) France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Bahrain, Egypt, Japan, Norway, Denmark, Turkey, Greece and South Korea.
