KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.

The King of Prussia Chamber of Commerce recognized the Lockheed Martin Network of Volunteer Associates (NOVA) today for its service and outstanding support to the community.

NOVA is the 2003 recipient of "The Herbert Middleton Award for Excellence in Community Service." The award, established in 1998 to honor the former Chairman of the Middleton Companies, was presented to NOVA during the chamber's annual awards ceremony at the Sheraton Park Ridge Hotel in King of Prussia. Herbert Middleton actively supported King of Prussia area charities and community organizations before his death.

NOVA was selected for the award for its support of the King of Prussia Chamber of Commerce's "A Home for the Inn" project to restore and relocate the historic King of Prussia Inn. NOVA volunteers spent countless hours helping renovate the Inn and assisting the Chamber in preparing for the Inn's grand opening celebration.

"Our volunteers worked tirelessly to help ensure the completion of this project and we are grateful to the Chamber for this recognition," said Tracy Carter Dougherty, chairperson of NOVA's Delaware Valley chapter. "The Inn is a historic building in the King of Prussia area, and we were thrilled to be able to support the Chamber in this very worthwhile restoration project."

In addition to NOVA's support, Lockheed Martin donated $10,000 to the project.

Since 1993, NOVA has been involved in community service efforts in the Delaware Valley. From mentoring and tutoring disadvantaged youth in science and math to renovating dilapidated housing, NOVA volunteers have shown an unwavering commitment to people, families and communities.
