Michael Fortson, a Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co. engineer, was honored recently with the Distinguished Engineer of the Year Award at the 2002 National Society of Black Engineers Golden Torch Awards in Orlando, Fla.

The Distinguished Engineer of the Year Award is the NSBE's most-prestigious award.
