Lockheed Martin Awarded U.S. Air Force Simulation Training Contract Worth $25 Million
Theater Aerospace Command and Control Facility (TACCSF) Operates as Network Hub

Lockheed Martin Information Systems has been awarded the U.S. Air Force's Theater Aerospace Command and Control Facility operations and maintenance contract worth approximately $25 million over the next five years with potential for growth to 10 years.

The contract includes operations and maintenance, hardware, software and systems development as well as studies and analysis for the Air Force training facility located at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This modeling and simulation training facility, the largest human-in-the-loop air defense simulation system in operation, is capable of integrating numerous tactical command and control weapons systems simulations. The system combines high- fidelity replicas of fielded systems, terrain data, variable weather conditions, and highly accurate threat modules to allow missile crews, F-15 aircrews, and command/control personnel to rapidly train and prepare for specific operations.

"This award strengthens our long-standing partnership with the U.S. Air Force to provide systems training and support," said Lockheed Martin Information Systems President John Hallal. "The lives of U.S. aircrews in wartime depend on the quality of our training."

TACCSF is a Distributed Interactive Simulations modeling and simulation facility that creates actual combat operations scenarios including aircraft, surface to air missiles, ground based surveillance and tactical command and control. Extending beyond pilot training, TACCSF operates as a test, evaluation and development center to examine and improve processes employed during actual wartime.

Lockheed Martin Information Systems is a leader in the design, development, installation, operation and integration of training and simulation systems for global defense, civil, and commercial markets. Training products and services in the Lockheed Martin portfolio span the training continuum of live, virtual, constructive and test-instrumentation domains for flight, naval, and ground systems applications. Addressing this continuum with products ranging from high fidelity virtual simulators to modern wargaming models and full-service schoolhouse operations, Lockheed Martin offers tailored solutions to address readiness needs.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, Lockheed Martin is a global enterprise principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture and integration of advanced-technology systems, products and services.
