Lockheed Martin Corporation today announced that Douglas H. McCorkindale, Chairman, President and CEO, Gannett Co., Inc., has been elected to the Board of Directors, effective today.

Mr. McCorkindale became CEO of Gannett in June 2000 and Chairman in February 2001. In his nearly 30 years with Gannett, he has also served as Senior Vice President of Finance, Vice Chairman and President, a position he retains. He also serves as a Director of Gannett, Continental Airlines and is a director or trustee of numerous Mutual Funds in the Prudential Group of Newark, N.J.

Mr. McCorkindale was born on June 14, 1939 in New York City.
