Lockheed Martin Management & Data Systems (M&DS) has been awarded an $8.8 million contract to be the Systems Integrator for the Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Investigative and Traffic Safety Incident Information Management System or IIMS. Lockheed Martin M&DS will coordinate a wide-ranging project that will revolutionize the State's Police use of technology to fight crime.
"The goal of this extensive undertaking is to give troopers the most up-to-date technology tools so they can provide the most effective and efficient service to the citizens of the Commonwealth. Troopers will use computer technology to record information at the scene of incidents, process evidence and build information as the investigation continues," said State Police Commissioner Paul J. Evanko.
The IIMS project will be implemented in two major phases, the first is the detailed design work and component selection included in this initial contract. The second phase will consist of the actual implementation and deployment of the technology. This project is a top priority for the Pennsylvania State Police to completely modernize its data systems for statewide dispatch, mobile computers for the entire mobile fleet, in addition to evidence, criminal and investigative management systems.

Lockheed Martin M&DS will provide overall project leadership and systems engineering and integration. The Company will be responsible for the design, development, integration and implementation of the various components of IIMS, in concert with its consortium members. Rounding out Lockheed Martin's team are TRW, SAIC, DynCorp, Applied Digital Solutions, Innovative Business Concepts, L. Robert Kimball and Associates, Matthew Hunt and Associates, The Crider Group, Carnegie Mellon Research Institute and Pennsylvania State University.
